Lumexa LIMS · Laboratory Information System

One accession per tube, from draw to authorisation.

LumexaLims runs the laboratory worklist end to end — sample collection, acceptance, result entry, authorisation and a critical value matrix — consolidating a patient’s orders into one tube per container and issuing every barcode label in a single tap.

When a patient has four orders, an unconsolidated lab draws four times and prints four labels. The phlebotomist works harder, the patient is bruised, and each extra tube is another chance for a mislabelled specimen. Meanwhile results are typed once into an analyser log and again into the record, and a critical value is often noticed when someone reads the report rather than when it is entered.

Workflow overview

A connected path through Lumexa LIMS

LumexaLims starts at Sample collection with a patient-wise pending view. Multiple orders for the same patient share one tube per container type, and the system generates one accession number per unique container — Collect all then issues every barcode label in one go. The patient is drawn once, not once per order.

01

Patient-wise pending collection

See every uncollected order grouped by patient, not scattered by order.

02

One tube per container

Orders sharing a container type are consolidated into a single draw.

03

Accession per container

One accession number generated per unique container, automatically.

04

Collect all

Issues every barcode label for a patient’s containers in one action.

Benefits

Why laboratories choose it

Designed for Laboratory manager. Order-to-accession consolidation by container type; barcode label generation per accession; sample acceptance and rejection with reason codes; result entry against configurable reference ranges; configurable critical value matrix; separate authorisation role and audit; cross-tab search by name, MRN, NID, accession or barcode; test, container and profile masters; EMR order and result integration; shared patient index across Lumexa modules.

One draw per patient

Container consolidation removes duplicate tubes and duplicate labels.

Fewer specimen errors

Barcode accessioning and recorded rejections replace handwritten labels and verbal repeats.

Critical values caught at entry

The matrix flags them while the result is being typed, not after the report is read.

Controlled release

Nothing leaves the laboratory unauthorised, and every release is attributable.

Any specimen, instantly findable

One search across name, MRN, NID, accession and barcode.
